Permanent Magnets
The machining of permanent magnets is how we started and we’re still doing that today. By machining large blocks into smaller pieces we are able to offer short lead-times. We not only machine simple geometric shapes such as blocks, rings and discs, but can offer more complex shapes using EDM wire cutting and waterjet technology.
NdFeB magnets are size for size the strongest magnet material we offer. These magnets have a high energy product and a high resistance to reverse field demagnetisation. The material has to be coated to prevent corrosion so we can offer nickel, zinc, phosphate or epoxy coating. NdFeB magnets can be supplied in different maximum temperature ratings such as 80°C, 120°C, 150°C, 180°C and 200°C. Main uses are holding, separation, filtration, sensors and generators although this material can be applied to most magnetic applications
Samarium cobalt magnets also have a high energy product and high resistance to demagnetisation. These magnets also have a high working temperature up to 300°C. This material also benefits from a very high resistance to corrosion and has an excellent temperature stability. Applications for samarium cobalt magnets are similar to NdFeB but where high temperature or corrosion resistance are required.

CERAMIC / FERRITE
Ceramic magnets are only of the lowest cost materials. Their cost, ease of machining, low corrosion and high working temperature make them a very versatile material. ceramic magnets are mainly found in Loud Speaker assemblies, Holding Magnets, Filtration assemblies and generators.
Alnico magnets are one of the oldest types still in use today. The length over diameter ratio required means that long bars or horseshoe types are commonly found. It very high temperature stability means they are found in hot working environments. Also, alnico has a long magnetic throw meaning that it is commonly used for sensors and switches.
Polymer Bonded Ceramic, as an injection moulded piece means that shapes and magnetic orientations not available with conventional manufacture methods for the other materials are available. Produced from tools made in-house with our CNC milling machines. Polymer bonded magnets are found in switches, controls and sensors.
MAGNETIC RUBBER - MAGNETIC SHEET - EXTRUSION - FLEXIBLE
Magnetic Rubber is as simple as it comes. A low strength but versatile material perfect for vehicle signs, point of display, badges, office magnets etc. Available in a variety of colours and adhesive backings.
